With the signing of the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contract between Kenergia Sviluppo srl (KS) and the operating company of Telmo Group SpA, and with the takeover activities of the plants starting this week, KS has become Italy’s largest italian operator in the O&M photovoltaic sector.

The agreement with Telmo increases KS’s portfolio of more than 50 MW bringing KS (51% Infrastrutture SpA and 49% Kenergia srl), to be the largest national company in the sector in Italy, based on the ranking of O&M operators annually published by the Politecnico di Milano, second only to SunEdison, the American giant of photovoltaics.

With today’s agreement, KS also confirms to be by far the largest fully independent service provider operating in the competitive market and without any support from “captive market“, that is, plants made as EPC, a common feature among competitors.

It is clear that Telmo’s choice awarded the professionalism, as well as the quality and safety certifications that since long time have been key features of the activity of KS on-site, which mainly operates with its own technical teams, well trained and equipped with all the necessary supplies to perform the job safely. Thanks to its control rooms which provide service coverage 24h/365g, KS is able to intervene on-site all around Italy within three hours and can also provide, as it will do for Telmo, video-surveillance and safety services.

“The market requires high-added value O&M services to improve plant performance – Said Giovanni Simoni, President of Kenergia Sviluppo srl – After the reduction of the feed in tariff, the need to achieve significant economies of scale can be only accomplished by an organization that operates with its own reliable and highly specialized tools for remote monitoring and with on-site direct technical staff”. “This result – says Simoni – has been achieved thanks to a team with high technical and managerial competencies, led by Paolo Chiantore who was able to transfer to the Customer the importance of our most relevant features: hard work and competence”.

“In KS we found a very high level of professionalism – said Sergio Cassotti, CEO of Telmo SpA – and our expectation is that we can develop a long-term strategic partnership, which allows our group not only to have a significant cost saving but also to express measurable upsides”.
